Image Preloader is a Windows application for Webmasters and Website Owners who want to preload website images fast and easy without writing a single line of code. Browse your hard drive to select images to preload. Alternatively, you can enter your image filenames manually. Save your project to your hard drive. Copy/paste the preloader to your webpage or Insert your preloader to your webpage on your local computer. Uploading is a snap by drag and drop or copy/paste. Alternatively, you can use your own favorite FTP program. Up to 100 images per preloader. Any number of preloaders run on the same page. Any number of websites. How Does Image Preloader Work? The way a browser normally works, images are loaded only after a request is sent for them. So if you have an image that swaps on mouseover, or changes an image automatically after a timeout, you can expect to wait anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes while the image is retrieved from the server. This is especially noticeable if you have a slow connection to the Internet, or if the images being retrieved are very large...and the delay usually ruins the effect you were hoping for. Image Preloader notifies the browser to download the image to the cache before it's needed. That way when the image is really needed it can be retrieved from the cache and displayed immediately. As your webpages open, your images will open faster and give a seemless effect as they change thanks to Image Preloader.
